The History
From high in the Welsh foothills of Snowdonia comes one of the world’s purest natural
mineral waters – Decantae. It is named after the ancient Celtic tribe who once inhabited the
site of this precious natural spring.Today Decantae Mineral Water filters through layers
of 400 million year old rock strata.
In 1986, following official recognition of the Decantae Spring as a Natural Mineral Water,
bottling commenced at Trofarth Farm. Decantae’s source originates from this land some 300-metres
above sea level. Following the explosive growth in the mineral water market in the 1990's it was necessary
that substantial investment be made in order to remain competitive in the market place. Enhancement
of production,warehousing and distribution facilities in our high quality controlled environment,
was effected by an investment in excess of 2 million pounds from new investors. The
Andrews and Johnson families supported by a high quality professional business and production
management team now own and manage the Decantae Mineral Water Company.
Future Plans
In 2001 a second production line was installed to meet the ever growing demand for pure natural
mineral water in the UK market. The new line designed for high volume pet bottles in various sizes
and sports cap. New inline automatic case packing machine was introduced and used for both glass and plastic products,
which reduces breakages and provides a stable pack for both distribution and storage. All cases
are now colour coded for easy product recognition.
Decantae in 2004 further expanded the production facilities at Trofarth,
incorporating a dedicated cupleting line to meet increasing demand from the leading airlines
of the world. Decantae is the largest supplier of natural mineral water cuplets in the U.K, supplying
over 500,000 units per week.
